Rappahannock County’s population grew by exactly 10 persons from 2006 to 2007, according to the latest figures from the IJ.S. Census Bureau.
Thu bureau released the now population estimate's on March 20, showing that Rappahanncx’k’s population was 7,199 as of .July 1, 2007. The? estimated population for the county on .July 1, 2006, was 7,189.
Rappahannock's population has increased 3.1 percent from the 2000 Census figure of 6,983. The highest one-year estimate for the county’s population since the 2000 Census was in 2005, when the county’s population was estimated to lx1 7,264.
Among neighboring counties, Culpeper has grown at the fastest rate- since 2000. According to the latest estimates, Culpeper has a population of 45,723 - a 33 percent increase from the 2000 count of 34,262.
Fauquier County had the second-fastest growth rate among Rappahannock’s neighbors. Fuuquier’s population of 66,328 is a 20 percent increase from 55,139 in 20(H).
The other three counties that border Rappahannock also showed growth since the 2000 Census.
Madison County grew 9 percent from a population of 12,520 to 13,719. Cage County grew 4 percent from 23,177 to 24,142. Warren County grew 15 percent from 31,584 to 36,294.
•Just seven counties in Virginia have smaller populations t han Rappahannock.
