Or so claim the stalwarts of the Rappahannock County Democratic Committee, who conducted their spring cleanup of US. ill lust Friday. The Democratic Committee udopted a 2.5-mile stretch of the highway west of Massies Corner several years ago. and has been cleaning it regularly since then.

Generally, they see plenty of beer and soda cans and bottles, and this year was no exception.

“But there is less variety this year. The beer was almost all the less expensive brands." noted Dick Reidinger. one of the Democratic ‘pickup artists’, as they call themselves, “And. unlike previous years, there were very few fast food cartons and bags.”
