to keep them safe.
We are to protect our animals just like our children. They are not smart enough to do it for themselves. That is why we are to act like the adults.
Now. t will be honest. I have chased a dog or two down the street because they have gotten out my back door. 1 am not perfect. When that has happened, it is a dead heat run. the whole family running for the dog.
Are those the circumstances here? ♦Or any of the above 1 mentioned'7) If so. I will apologize. The first article mentioned there were other pets “lost* too. that creates a feeling of doubt in my mind that there were “owner’s obligations* not being met.
Just because we live out in the country doesn’t give us the right to let our pets run free and be haphazard pet owners. They are still our responsibility. and we still need to keep them safe.

Leg-hold traps
should be banned
I believe that animals feel both pain
and emotion. With that said. I am against the use of leg traps in their entirety. If there must be some use, than let it be by special exception with all neighbors informed as to their limited duration
This law that allows the use of leg traps is clearly in need of changing and. in my mind, is deeply connected to the open season on coyotes. It certainly was in Mr. Ludwig’s case
Leg traps have been referred to recently as “coyote traps'* when, in reality, they are ‘anything that walks by’ traps. They are indiscriminating and inhumane, yet allowed, even with close proximity to homes, homes with children and pets who might dare to enter a neighbor's property, driven by a good day and a good nature.
Could you mine your property with trnps just because you wanted to^ That doesn't make sense, but neither does killing coyotes or anything else because they have been labeled o nuisance by some outdated Virginia law
A nuisance is a circumstance, not a species'
Let's put site I leg-hold traps in our past where they belong They are immoral and should lie made illegal. (Jet the Virginia laws to reflect the values of our time
