tn this, the terquasquicentennial of the formation of Rappahannock County... it turns out that no one can say that word, und that it is probably not. even correct, to boot. Scholarly opinion varies just what is the correct term for the 175th anniversary, and there's a fair amount of opinion thut Septaquintaquinquecentenn ial is the way to go; of course, these are the types of “scholars" who feel that a ten syllable wort! is letter than a siBsified seven syllable word, und who are prune to get in endless, tedious arguments about Attic Greek declension while burin# the pants off of whomsoever was so unfortunate as to get stuck with them at the bar.
Fortunately folks, this article isn't about that anniversary, but about the fact that this Spring brings the Thirtieth Annual Fodderstuck 10-K Race, which will run from the Vierling’s Packing Shed in Flint Hill to Washington.
In point of tact, we've hud the course scientifically and reliably measured (translation: we him! someone competent to do it), und it turns out that we need to move the starting line u bit further north of the Vierling's Packing Shed to eke out the required 1 OK of distance. Henceforth, it really will lie a 10-K race... really.
