Essay contest

The United Daughters of the Confederacy. Culpeper Chapter #73 cordially invite the students of Rappahannock County to participate in their annual essay contest.

The format for this contest has changed. For lower grades there is a coloring/drawing contest and upper grades will have an essay format.

There is a category for high school, middle and elementary age students. Private and homeschooled students are encouraged to enter as well!

Prizes will be awarded for each grade category: 1-2, 3-5, 6-3, 9-12. Prizes are: First place, $50.00. Second place, $35.00, and Third place, $25.00

If you have an interest in history, a copy of the essay rules and checklist cay be obtained through the Rappahannock County Public Schools, Wakefield Country DaySchool, Hearthstone School, and the Rappahannock County Public Library.

The deadline for the essay is April 15, 2003.
