On the other hand, fall is often the most difficult time to see birds around our houses. “From late August through October, there is an abundance of food for our local resident birds,” Price noted. “It is a time when we do not see too many at our feeders because they have become more venturesome in their feeding and have expanded their foraging areas.”
The RLEP Full Bird Walk provides an opportunity for novices to experts alike to see where our resident birds have gone, as well as to see northern birds making their amazing journey through our neighborhood. This season is our last chance to see them before winter comes, and it will be a long wait for their return next spring.
