Bonner Farms
1 Bonner Farms outside Amissviile is the newest, and possibly smallest, of the three county sellers. The folks there have been selling trees about eight years, and with few customers to compete with each other, they can and do provide a great deal of personal attention.
Customers park next to a small gift shop and are offered some hot cider by the owners, - Rappahannock County kindergarten teacher Pearl Barron, and her husband Tripp, who spends his weekdays working for VDOT in Culpeper. Then, they hop on a trailer pulled by the Barron’s tractor, and head out to the Christmas tree grove. “It’s like a short hay ride,” says Tripp Barron.
Having accompanied their customers thus far, the Tripps also cut the tree for them once a selection is made. Then, the tree is hauled back to the parking area to be baled and loaded onto the customer’s waiting vehicle.
