Planting a tree
The other major option is whether to take a freshly cut tree or one that's been dug up roots and all so it can he planted outdoors after the Christmas season The Rankins allow customers to dig up their own trees for an extra $5.
However, doing this is a lot of work, and if you don't get enough of the root mass the tree's health can suffer. The Toles at Evergreens Etc , have a tree spade, and for $30 will dig the selected trees for their customers.
Finally, there’s the question of a gift shop The Rankins don't have one. and Evergreens Etc , doesn't either But. the Bonners have a few options and at Oak Shade Farms it seems that the sky's the limit. Customers can buy everything from wrought iron sculptures to hand-made rugs to Christmas candles, and even pet a baby bunny.
