In an unusual move (Decause it’s usually done during sentencing procedures), Parker requested and heard arguments from both sides on whether Mason’s distribution conviction could be considered an “accommodation” - a less commercial sort of drug dispensation that carries a significantly shorter maximum sentence (10 years versus 40). He then ruled in favor of the accommodation finding.
