Sometimes those of us who are '‘native born’’ take our citizenship for granted. We forget what it means to 'be an American. We say “Xet the government do it — or the other fellow” in a way that would put 6ur immigrating ancestors — or their modem D.P. counterparts — to shame. We forget that we are government — local, state and national — only as long as We are willing to exercise Our rights as free people. __* _
We would hate to lose those rights. Other peoples have. We must work to keep them. Today and every day.
