Now that is an ideal, bat it is not an impossible ideal for it was realized in the life of Christ. He faced a world of sorrow, sin and death, yet that knowledge did not discourage or depress Him. Sorrows," rather than the Man - of Joy. Of course He had his moments of sorrow, like at the grave ef Xasaroe, Uke vrooptag over Jerusalem, and in the Carden'' of Gethsamene. But these were only momenta tn Him life. The great Days of His life were lived out in the light, and were full of happiness, peace and joy.
And so o^r religion ought to do that for us. If we have any religion, it ought to give us peace, when everything else fails. The promise is "They shall be kept in perfect peace, whosje minds are stayed on God." So we ought to give thanks always for alb things.
