But our hardest problem is to be thankful for the hard things of life. How can the poor, the sick, the unfortunate be thankful? But the truth is that in many cases we lind that these are the most thankful people You recall that it was said of St. Paul that he “Thanked God and took courage,” and that was between a shipwreck and prison. He had just been in peril of the sea, and was now going to a greater peril, where his life was at stake. But this caused him to think more deeply, so he ‘'Thanked God and took courage.” The only way that we can solve these problems.in life is to Trust in God. The. little child takes the father’s hand and goes out into the blackest night with a feeling of perfect confidence. So if we trust in God, then we knoy that God is leading us, we know that our lives are secure in His hands, and then we can appreciate all the common •blessings'' of life, and trust- Him to take care of all the hard things of life, so that we can then “give thanks always for all things unto God.”
