A decision to employ >a trained assistant to help the local board of assessors in the re-assessment of real estate was made by the Board of Supervisors in meeting' in the Courthouse yesterday.
On the suggestion of Robert L.Brown, Treasurer of Rappahannock county, the salary set for the treasurer’s office was fixed at $3,200, with $000 added for a part-time assistant. This is a saving of $500 to the county, and Treasurer Brown stated that he, as well as anyone could know, was in a position to state that the county needed to} save money wherever it could.
A motion was made and carried to investigate the possibilities of deducting the sum of $1300 from the welfare appropriation to provide a county health nurse. This sum is the amount needed to supplement a $500 sum available through the T.B. sales.
The report from the boaid of viewers led to the acceptance of the petition and the recommendation that a road be established in the Chester Gap neighborhood, as applied for at the January meeting of the Board of Supervisors.
