In the discussion at the meeting of the board of supervisors on Wednesday morning, many small instances were cited where this toll-free county service would be of great help: in calling the doctor in calling the game warden, in school work of P.-T.A. and other school activities, in conducting business and in the matter of strengthening th^ county for the future by removing a barrier in the communication, so important in a rural community.
The fact was brought out that four of the six magisterial districts are divided by toll calls.
Throughout th discussion there was reiteration that there was no complaint of the telephone service. Plans for a big John Deere Day have been announced by the Hoffman Implement Service .in Culpeper scheduled for Wednesday, February 15, at 1 p.m., in Pitts’ Theatre. -
A most cordiOT invitation has been issued the people of Rappahannock county by E. Murphy Hoffman, and he expresses the hope that everyone will be there —w-V'-i the whole family—to enjoy the movie “Roots in the Soil,” plus an educational film showing what’s new in farm, equipment, how to use this new equipment, and what its work will earn and save for the farmer in the future. One section of the educational film, 'based on soil conservation, deals with '“The Farmer of the Year.”
