Famines who have owned San Jacinto since the Willises lived there are the Tom Mahoney family. the William Sisks, the Jack SBks who now reside in Baltimore, Md., and Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Miller who sold the property to the present owners, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mercer Menefee.
When the house at San Jacinto was re-modeled inside, the walls of the dining room were jepapered with hunting-scenes, replacing The original papering—rm—wh-ftdrwas portrayed scenes from various French dramas. Each wall of the dining room was decorated with a different scene.
Mrs. Menefee wrote a description of the changes made in remodeling at San Jacinto for the Farm-Journal magazine of March 1949. Mrs. Menefee stated, “The changes weren’t accomplished without some confusion and much hard work. But today comfortable living more than makes up for our trouble.
“My husband has done wonders with the farm. He added 500 young trees to the old apple orchard. He has built up the pasture land by mowing fh'P ‘sea’ of broom sedge at intervals and spreading all the lime he could pay for—and a little he co ldn’t —at the time! With an annual crop of feeder calves and 300 Hampshire hens, we’re gradually making the farm pay.
