Top Price For Calf

A 4-month-old calf, weighing 515 pounds was sold on the livestock market at Front Royal recently, bringing $140.33.

This calf, raised by young Atkina, was sired by a pure-bred Hereford bull, out of a part Jersey and Hereford cow.

SPEND WEEK CAMPING

Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Dennis and grandchildren, J. G. and Ginger Russell, of Flint Hill, spent a most enjoyable week camping at Big Meadows Campground in Shenandoah National Park. While there they took in two illustrated talks, “Meet Your Park Ranger’’ and “Shenandoah Animals’’ at the Big Meadows Amphitheatre. These talks are a part of tfie Naturalist Service of the park. “Pete” Dennis, and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert H. Dennis and daughter, Sandra, of Amissville, joined them for the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis’ daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James R. Johnson are spending the summer in the Ranger Cabin at Big Meadows Campground, where Mr. Johnson is employed as seasonal ranger by the Shenandoah National Park.
