The Governor’s Safety Council is working like mad and over-time to try and do something about the wholesale murder accomplished in hte State by auto accidents.
What is needed is some more safe drivers like unto a few known in every community. They are so terrible that everyone gives them plenty of room, or else gets clear over in the ditch (or out into the adjoining field) and lets them have all the space necessary. Mo^t drivers are too trusting. They assume the other fellow is going to follow all the rules and regulations. There’s the fatal error. What you should do is expect the worse.
Be like the fellow who had just been fleeced in a gyp game, “I wouldn’t trust my own brother now without a thorough investigation.”
Never trust any driver. The roads are safe, but they aren’t fool-proof; or, as has been said often, “A genius made the car, but they let fools drive them.” If you don’t believe it just stand on the corner <in front of our office and w^tch some of the drivers make the turn. Sometimes you wonder how they make it.
