County Schools Open
With Large Enrollment
The children of the county returned to school Tuesday morning, with 224 pupils enrolled in the county’s first consolidated high school. Amissville school had an enrollment of about 50; Forest Grove had 64 on the opening day, with 37 in the primary grades and 27 in the elementary.
Sperryville school, with the first consolidated elementary grades, enrolled 286 on Tuesday and expects 312 by the time enrollment is completed.
Woodville school’s enrollment is 60, and the first day at Reager saw 67 pupils in attendance.
Mrs. S. F. Carter is the new teacher at the Woodville school, and the new teachers at Rappahannock High School are: Miss Adamo, business teacher; Miss Golladay, music teacher; Mr. Beck, agriculture instructor; Mr. Calhoun, coach and science teacher, and Mrs. Calhoun, school secretary. . -
