Mr. Jacobs, who worked for the past week here in Rappahannock county in connection with the Japanese Beetle Grub Survey being conducted by our state entomologist, Dr. G. T. Francs, reported an average of 422,532 grubs per acre, according to our arithmetic. While the survey reported this time in writing, differs a bit from that printed in Rapp-Chats of last week, which was quoted by Mr. Jacobs from memory, it is still most alarming.
Here is the report in detail: C. W. Keyser farm, two diggings (each digging on a square foot area) 11 grubs; I. S. Compton’s, three diggings and 10 grubs; Mt. - Vemor, 5 diggings 15 grubs; J. W.
