The above report covers work done August 28 - Sept. 1. At present no report is available on survey work done during the previous week, however it will be published upon receipt from thi State entomologist’s office. In addition your county 'agent has requested Dr. French to extend the survey beyond the area already covered to include properties along routes 722, 640, 642, 618, 628, and 522 in the vicinity of Flint Hill and northward, and on route 622 where heaviest infestation of adult Japanese Beetle seemed to v he or was equla to the areas already surveyed.
The full force of the results of this survey aren’t full comprehended and even then ’tis .only a guess .*. . until you stop to realise that adult female beetles are yet laying eggs and all those eggs produced this season haven’t hatched. Anyway, it is htoped the public in general will get concerned enough over this menace to start a wholesale war against the beetles. The county agent’s office has complete information on how to combat the beetle, available free for the asking.
