Fireman’s Carnival
Set for Sept 11-18
Beginning Monday night, September 11, the Keystone Carnival will be in Washington, at Dick Miller's field, for the week. The carnival is under the auspices of the Rappahannock Volunteer Fire Company and the ladies of the auxiliary will be in charge of the “Eats” booth.
On Thursday night Wakefield district will furnah the food for sale; on Friday night, Jackson district; and Saturday night, Hampton district. The ladies will serve home-cooked pies and cakes, and the ever-popular egg sandwiches will be there. • Now is the time for the local people to help the fire company. Send in your donations for the “eats” booth, and come to the carnival.
Miss Georgia A. Sealock
Georgia A. Sealock, 55, died very suddenly of a heart attack Thursday, August 31, at her home in Washington, „D.C. She was a' daughtefr of the late Harvey and Alcinda Sealock. She spent her early years in Sperryville, later going to Washington, D.C., where she held a government position for the past twenty-eight years. Miss Sealock is survived by two brothers, W. W. Sealock of Falls Church; James E. Sealock, of Front Royal; and two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Ridgeway, of Silver Springs, Md., and Mrs. George W. Brown of Sperryville. Funeral services were held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Lee Funeral Home in Washington, D.C., with burial in National Memorial Park Cemetery in Falls Church.
JULIA HAYGOOD CIRCLE
The Julia Haygood Missionary Circle of Flint Hill Baptist church met Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wood, there were eleven members and one visitor present. Mrs. John Browninug had the regular monthly program, Mrs. Wood 'feonducted a special program “The Day of Prayer.”
