They tore up two good cars; one lady had some stitching done on a knee; one young lady is going to sport a “shiner” for th'e opening of school; another lady, had a good case of hysterics; and the crash of one car against the light pole cut off the electricity. Until a repairman arrived, the' modern housekeeper of the neighborhood found herself without stove, refrigerator, lights or an electric fan.
A bitter lesson has been learned. You can preach safety; you can howl it on the radio; you can beg and plead; you can plaster she road sides with caution signs; you can print the papers full of safety warnings—still there are accidents.
The fellow who invents a wreckless car has a fortune awaiting him. (Like the farmer who’s gonna grow square-sided peas—so’s ~ they won’tjikp off’en your knife.)

Like everything else, school has changed. It’s had to meet changing conditions and un-changing human, nature.
From all the wild tales told, there’s no way to know what schools are like unless you visit and then it’s likely to be the ease of the blind men going to see the elephant.
So many tales have been spread on modern day education that I know I don’t understand it and sometimes there’s doubt if the educator does. Articles are written telling that such-and-such a grade has classes in everything from how to be a success at a party to how to pour tea *or mend the screen door. Numbers of paragraphs tell of youngsters in college totally unprepared. Then when it’s all proved that education is totally inadequate, a record comes out showing one of our boys or girls who is making an A-l success of his college or business, and, since he attended the same school as all the others, he must have had a pretty fair education.
Tie a healthy sign when the educators are dissatisfied. They're looking for something better. My guess is that they hope to retain the best of the past and improve the future in the school’s training of the youngsters.
