MRS. THORNTON ENTERTAINS WITH BRIDGE
• On Thursday evening Mra, P. Lee Thornton entertained with bridge at her home in Sperryville. Those playing were Mrs. Carroll Menefec and her house guest Mrs* O. L. Stanard, Mrs. Holmes Hall, Mra. Joseph H. Aylor, Mrs. Z. H. Sealock, Mrs. George Taylor, Mr#. John Davis, Mra. Fred Schaefer, Capt. and Mra. H. C. Warwick, Mr, and Mra. H. B. Winfrey, Mra. Brown Miller, Mrs. I. R. Kilby,; Mrs. R. G. Quaintance and Mrs. John P. Snead. The high score prise was won by Mrs. Stanard. The two low score prises were awarded Mra. Winfrey ■ and Mra. Warwick. At the conclusion of the game a salad course was served by the hostess. i -

Miss Gladys Reid wishes to thank the Young Women’s Busi ness circle of the Washington Baptist church for the very nice party they gave for her Thursday even-, ing, also she wants to thank The Woman’s Society of Christian Service of the Washington Methodist church for the lovely shower they gave her Friday evening at “Rose Cottage” .the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles G. Reid. Miss Reid left Sunday for Madison College.
AM1SSVILLE 4-H CLUB NEWS
The Amissville 4-H Club met last week and elected officers for the coming year. Officers elected are Shirley Poe, president; Ashby Green, vice president; Audrey :Gough, secretary; Buddy jrapp^ song leader; Jane Riley, game leader; ’ Franklin Williams, devotional leader. Nine old members and seven new ones were present, making a total of 16 members in the club.
