Committees were appointed Tuesday night, September 19, afc the first regular meeting of the new town council of Washington, at the Firehouse.

When they requested it, Treasurer Brown read a list of the warrants drawn, and it was found that $2,815.14 had been spent this year prior to September 1, $1,588 of this amount spent in the month of August alone.

A budget committee, composed of Miss Ruby Jenkins as chairman, and Mrs. Milton M. Hawkins, Jr., and Mrs. J. W. Price, will study the problems at hand, establish * tentative budget, and search for possible economy measures.
