Anderson Begins
17th Cross-Continent Trip
Aubrey M. Anderson, who has been visiting his mother, Mrs. Luenuna F. Anderson* and sister, Mrs. A. C. Latham, of Amissville, started his 17th journey across! the continent last Thursday when he left for ‘his home in California.
Mr. Anderson, with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Smiley, rad their two daughters, Virginia and Marilyn, arrived about two weeks ago for their visit at Amissville.
While here (they were entertained at dinner by Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Luttrell and by Mr. Anderson’s unde, Robert L. Miller, and at a picnic in "Old Hollow” by Mr. and Mrs. Dick Latham.
Guests at a picnic dinner in the Latham home on the first Sun-t day included Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Anderson, Miss Lucy Anderson, and Peyton Anderson of Arlington, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Latham, Jr., and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. Richard Latham and family, R. L. Miller, and Mr. and Mr*. T. W. Latham.
On Wednesday Mr. rad Mrs. Joe Anderson of Wood Acres, Md., and the Rev. an^Mrs. M. E. Sliger of Flint Hill were dinner guests in thq Latham home.
Aubrey Anderson made this trip from California especially to see , his mother who was 101 years old last IWcwihefc? ~
His first five trips were made by train, the last 12 being made1 with his family by automobile.. They return by different route* each time, doing a little sightseeing. This time they plan to take in New York and Niagara Falls.
Each tune an additional member of the family has come along who has not seen Luray Caverns, so one day of each visit is scheduled to be spent seeing the cave.
