Theqe will be services at Promise Land Baptist church Sunday at 11 &.m. and 6 p.m., by the pastor, Rev. O. D. Jackson.
The annual union meeting was held at the First Baptist church in Harris Hollow, July 8. Visiting , ministers were Elder Bailey of Herndon, Elder Goodall of Berryville, and Elder King of linden. A basket lunch was served at 1:30 followed by an afternoon service.
Mr. and Mrs. William Coaxum, James Williams, and John Coax* urn of New York City, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hunter Mr. Williams, Mr. Coaxum and John Coaxum returned to New York on Sunday. Mrs. William Coaxum is spending this week with her parents, Mt. and Mrs. W. H. Hunter.
Mrs. Lewis Fletcher was in. Washington, D. C., for several days last ^eek.
Lawrence Jordan of Richmond spent several days last week with his mother, Mrs. Rose Jordan, at Huntly.
