Pfc. Grover Franklin Fincham* 23, of Washington, was killed instantly Tuesday, July 10, when the convertible he was driving overturned on Route 211 about four miles east of Gainesville.

State Police said Pfc. Fincham died instantly in the crash about 4:15 a.m. Two passengers in the car, William Earl Burke and Marvin W. Sisk, both 22, of Culpeper^ received only minor injuries.

Trooper H. C. Lanahan said Pfc. Fincham had turned the wheel of his car sharply (to the left, causing it to crash into a bank and upset.

Pfc. Fincham was returning to Camp Kilmer, N. J., following a leave spent with his mother, Mrs. Jessie Settle Fincham, in Culpeper. He had recently returned after* serving three years in Australia.

Funeral services will be conducted with military honors, on Friday, July 18, in the Masonic i cemetery, Washington, at 2 p.m.

Pfc. Fincham is survived by his mother, Mrs. Jessie Settle Fincham, of Culpeper, and his father, Grover C. Fincham of Brandy.

For Baptist Sunday School

The committee in charge of the “add a dollar” campaign for the building fund-of Washingon Baptist church Sunday school, had been around checking on the signs ito which people have been adding a dollar for some wtoeks. The results show |160 so-far, with a “nest egg'1 of $1 left on each sign. Skipper Giles refused to part with his 140, for he said he had several folks to promise to attach a dollar to the string of dollars and he wanted them to see the long line to remind them o£ their promise. The printing office and the service station at Massie’s Corner tied for a second rating with $22 each on their signs.
