Mrs Jarvis has been invited to show some of the White New Zealand variety at the State Fair in Richmond during September.

Mrs. Jarvis states that she ia amazed daily at how little she knew about raising rabbits until she got started. It demands much time studying and record keeping. One of the items she discovered was that rabbit breeders have an association of their own, known as the Rabbit and Gavie Associi ation of America. (She says that she ran for the dictionary to learn that the ‘Cavie” was a guinea pig.)

Many interesting bits of knotwledge come to light as more is learned about the rabbits, Mrs. Jarvis staites. For instance, one mother rabbit refused to pull her fur to line the nest for the baby rabbits, while another almost stripped herself naked to provide a furry nest for the babies. It was finally decided that the climate was to blame. One of thei mother rabbits had come from New York state and the weather was so much hotter here than it was where she came from that she saw no necessity of lining a nest against* the cold. Another another rabbit had come from the deep south and the nights were so much Cooler, that the mother rabbit thought her babies would chill.

During the heat of the day the rabbits are indolent but in the cool of the morning and late at evening they play like kittens.

Guests are always welcome at “Pankey's Bunnyville’’ to see the rabbits. Mrs. Jarvis delights in putting the fancy rabbits on show, but it is advisable to get her to ahow you around for Trixie might think you are trying to annoy the rabbits and that comes in his department to protect them.
