“Red Beauty,” a New Zealand Red piece of rabbit royalty from Pankey’g Bunnyviile at Sperry* ; ville, twitched' hi* whiskers daintily last week as he reposed beneath a fancy bine ribbon at the Atlantic Rural Exposition at Richmond.
“Skyrocket,” a white New Zealand, took a fourth place in aclass of S3. “Cpl. Carroll, Jr.," ' won 8th placing in a clam of 42.
Mrs. Jaenie Jarvis was well pleased with the showing made • by the rabbits from Pankey’s Bunnyviile, since it was. the first time they had competed' and she is almost a novice in the rabbit k business. ■r The rabbit section at the Exposition, appearing for the first time created much comment and it was stated in a Richmond paper -.-that- the rabbit exhibit was one of the most popular attractions for the 100,000 visitors to view . the show. v- • - - -
Roy Tilby, the judge at Richmond, is a judge at national rab-' bit shows, and the 809 rabbits entered in the* show gave plenty of competition to make a winning place a real honor. ■ Mrs. Jarvis carried a fourth rabbjt to the fair but it was hurt before the judging took place and could not appear. She won three placings on three entries, including a blue ribbon—e record of which anyone eoold be proud.’
