THIRD ANNUAL 4-COUNTY \ AGRICULTURAL FAIR
All farmers and interested persons please support your Third •Annual Four-County Agricultural Fair, Saturday, October 18, at the Ferris Firm, Reva. You can contribute greatly to the success of • this fair by exhibiting your farm products.
In compliance with your fair catalogue, we are expecting yon to bring to the fair for judging and showing your best dairy cattle, beef cattle, swine, poultry, worfcstock, vegetable crops, field crops, household products, and other miscellaneous products. All exhibits, with the exception of livestock, are expected to be ready to open to the public by 9 :8(1 a.m. Livestock win be ready for judging at 12:80 p.m. Prises will be awarded to winners.
Special prises:
Mr. T. O. Madden is giving a dairy ball calf to the largest fam- - ily attending.
Mr. James, Walker is giving a ~ bushel of potatoes to the oldest person attending.
Mr. F. W. Nicholas is giving $5.00 to the person Tinder 20 years of age who displays the greatest showmanship with his animal.
Other special prises will be swarded. *

HILL IRON 812 TAKES 4TH PRIZE AT STATE PAIR
„■ .• -V ■ S Hill Iron H4112, one of the 50 registered Hereford ball eahree that were donated to the Virginia Association of Future Fanners of America by the Sears Roebuck Foundation and consigned to the Carver Regional High School N.F.A. chapter won fourth place, amounting to $20.00 in prises ef the 14 bulls that were placed in Group 1 at the Atlantic Rural Exposition, Richmond.
The bull resides on the farm of Mr. Clifton HOI, Sr., who has tf- ' tablished the Hereford breed of beef cattle on. his farm. Since the huU has been on Mr. Hill’s farm, ' he has been fed and cared for by Clfiton Hill, Jr., who is enrolled in Vocational Agriculture II at Carver Regional High School. Clifton Hill, Jr., did a superb job in fitting and showing his animal at the Atlantic Rural Exposition.
“Where we cannot invent, we may at least improve.” Assuming that the primary purpose behind the Sean Roebuck Foundation in donating these registered bulb was to improve livestock in Virginia; we, the Vo-ag students and Vo-ag instructom, are going to make the most effective use of the pure-bred bull consigned to us with the expectation of improving the livestock business by improving the livestock itself.
