Inspector Applauds

W. W. Birch of Richmond, li- ( C nse inspector for the office of Commissioner of Revenue, was in Rappahannock Monday and Tuesday on his annual trip about the state. Mr. Birch’s work includes inspection of merchant licenses, helping merchants arrange licenses, and any other assistance the can give in the office of Commissioner of Revenue.
‘‘Your commissioners doing a good Job,” reported Mr. Birch, who stated that he was spending his time in the office because the merchants’ licenses were in fine order and needed no attention.
It is the custom, Mr. Birch said, to have an inspector visit eachi new Commissioner of Revenue throughout the state. “Mrs. Maaaie is doing exceptionally well,” he said, and explained that his trip of inspection and offering of help was necessary because there are some commissioners who came into office with no experience. Since Mrs. Massie had been a deputy in the office for several years and was thoroughly familiar with the work, the office in Rappahannock was found to he in fine order and efficiently handled. ^
