Mouse Control Demonstration will be held at Sunny Slope Orchard at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 17 by Dr. Frank Horsfall. Dr. Horsfall has been conducting rodent control studies with V.P.l. experiment station for several years, and consequently has a very thorough knowledge of the habits of orchard mice and conducting Control Programs. MAY I URGE YOU TO BE PRESENT.
George Wood and Wood Bros, each purchased a registered Angus bull from the J. R. Tinsley herd on Monday of this week. George reports having for sale a nice young Hereford bull, that is reasonably priced. __^
Fertilizer recommendations for 1952 by members of the V.P.L Agronomy Department are now out. These recommendations are based on factual findings as a result of experiments conducted at the various State Experiment Stations. To mention a few of the recommendations of more immediate importance are: Alfalfa top dressing 600-1000 pounds 0-10-20 or 0-14-14 (borated); Com 600900 pounds 4-16-3, 5-10-10, 2-1212 (plus nitrogen amount depending on other conditions); Small grains 400-600 pounds 4-16-8, 412-8 or 5-14-14, plus 16 to 40 lbs. nitrogen if lodging is not ordinarily
