Four Gaines
The Rappahannock hoys’ and girls’ basketball teams remained undefeated in league competition by defeating Warren ton and Lovettsville High Schools.
Scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter, the Rappahannock boys emerged victorious over Warrenton by the score of 56-38. The game was closely contested for three quarters with Rappahannock holding a slim one point margin at the Close of the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the tide of the g&me changed as the Panthers were able to pull away a coni'* manding lead.
William Burke sparked the Panthers during the first half with William Armentrout and Sonny Brown taking up the pace throughout the rest of the game.
In their second league game, the Ehppahannock boys had little trouble downing Lovettsville High School by the score of 60-25. Twelve boys shared in the scoring for the victors with William Armentrotit leading the way with 16 points.
The Rappahannock girls made it four out of four as they defeated Warrenton 39-28 and Lovettsville 54-21. Joan Brown was the leading scorer against Warrenton with 17 points. Joan Brown was also thigh scorer against Lovettsville with 22 points. Hot Cloud was runnerup in both games with 14 and 21 points.
