NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the following ordinance was passed by the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County on January 9th, 1952.
WHEREAS, the recent spread of rabies among foxes, dogs, domestic and other animals in Fauquier and Loudoun Counties has jeopardized the health and safety of the people and animals in Rappahannock County,
WHEREAS, there is proof that a dog was bitten by a rabid fox in Rappahannock County, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to enact an ordinance to prevent the further spread of rabies in this County,
NOW THEREFORE, pursVant to sections 29-195, 29-196, 29188.1 and 15-8 of the Code of Virginia of 1950, it is ordained as follows:
1. The owners and custodians of all dogs four (4) months old and over in the County of Rappahannock shall have said dogs inoculated or vaccinated against rabies before March 1, 1952. It shall be unlawful for any person to bring into Rappahannock County or keep any dog over the age of four (4) months in said County unless said dog has been vaccinated or inoculated against rabies.
