If you told the average housewife that meat costs./less now than it did in the 30’s she’d look on you as a candidate for the booby-hatch. But meat does cost a little less—if the price is measured in proportion to family incomes, which is the only accurate yardstick. According to U.S. Department of Agriculture figures, meat accounted for 6 per cent of the average consumer’s disposable income during the 1930-39 period. During the four-year 1948-51 period, on the other hand, it took 5J per cent. And we eat more meat and better meat now -than we did in the past:Meat

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lyne and their daughter, Peachie Lyne were guests on Sunday of Col. and Mrs. R. G. Lyne at Waterford. Over night guests on Friday of Mr. and Mrs. Lyne were Mrs. John Dennis and two children of Rapp, Academy.
