Don’t kill honeysuckle indiscriminately—it has some uses.
John /»nos, weed specialist at VPI, says that in many locations, honeysuckle prevnts 1 erosion, provides cover for wildlife, and some forage for cattle when little else, is available. Honeysuckle does contain some animab food nutrients; -however, modern forage crops are much superior.
To kill honeysuckle along roadsides in front of houses, where it hides a scenic view, and in other undesirable places, Amos suggests using 2,4-"D at the rates suggested on the container.
