Did you ever figure the percentage of people who are renting pasture in the county who could stock their places without paying interest? Check into it and you will find a lot of idle capital. If they don’t want to risk the market, then why should I go into debt up to my neck and be happy if I got my cattle contract and pasture contract paid off.
You mentioned labor, machinery and fertilizer. Compare these with the fellow who has to raise the feed for these cattle to winter.
There is still plenty of grass to. be rented at $1.50 and $2.00 a month, so why is this stealing price still not taken? /
Please answer how much more or less labor it takes if a place is grazed or not grazed and kept cleaned up.
