HIGH LIGHTS OF 1951*52 SESSION
In September 291 pupils enrolled in the Sperryville Elementary School and ail of them were examined by both a doctor and a dentist. They have had the advantage of an eye, a dental and a pte-school clinic; and more than 50% of them became 5Fointers. *
Beside the regular school work— and one-half hour of physical education par day was included in this— there were some worthwhile outside activities. The Student Cooperative Association met and put on a program once a month, the 4-H Club met once - a month, the school patrol __ helped the bus driveirs and also the teachers with problems of safety and proper behavior on the buses and on the school ground, the seventh grade boys and girls played other schools at baseball and won all the games but one,, a school paper was published once a month, there was a Primary and a Junior Chorus, and each of the different rooms had a picnic or 1 party to celebrate the end of a hard year’s work. Ml of the grades put on a Halloween Program, Mrs. Keyser’s room put on a Doll Show and Mrs. Johnston’s and Mrs. .Walker’s rooms put on a minstrel for the benefit of the school. t This year the May Day-Health Day Program and the Music Festival were combined and all of the primary pupils in the county attended this program, f ' ^ -
The *P. T. A. sponsored a Teen1 Age - Club of .which some of the *pupils were members and it helped ?to buy a “Ditto” machine and more playground equipment for. the school.
The achievement testing' program ’ showed that most of the pupils had ,done a year's work well and most of i’the boys and girls seemed to have . .become more honest, more courteous, - and more dependable.

I 3rd Grade: Anna Mae Bailey, Bobby Jenkins, Wallace Nethers, William Atkins, Shirley Brown and Frances Dodson. $ 4th Grade: James Jenkins, Shirley Cloud.
5th Grade-: Hugh Atkins, Jluddy Devers, Julian Brown, Sydney. Graves, Joan Nethers, Shirley ' Jen-^ kins, Randall Updike, Patsy Frazier, and Janet Lillard.
6th Grade: Mary Eubank, Shirley Atkins, Marie Clark, Bobby Frazier, Corrine Burke, Edna Dodson, Glen Updike, Mildred Foster, Julia Scroggins, arid Cliffon Jenkins. ’ • 4
7th Grade: Joyce Cooke, Lewis Pullen, Nathaniel Dodson, Russell Sisk, Margaret Aftn. Devers, Betty Lou Kennedy and /tice Leake.
