Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Schaefer were in Washington, D. C. on Saturday night for the Washington Senators and Chicago White Sox baseball game. Joe Gordon Payne accompanied them and was an overnight guest in the home of his uncle and aunt, the Schaefers.

Mrs. Joe Henry At/lor, who spent last we$k at the Lee Highway Hotel with Mri. Howard was joined by her husband, Mi*. Aylor for the weekend, who made the return trip to Arlington on Sunday afternoon. ,Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Wood, Miss Louise Schwartz and Miss Charlotte Golladay were dinner guests on Friday evening* at Skyland Resort on the Skyline Drive.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Montgomery of Washington, D. C. spent Sunday with Miss Ebba Hitt and her sisters.

Mrs. Annie Taylor Bruce is spending .this week in Front Royal with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bruce and other members of her family.

Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Coffey have returned from a visit with relatives in Richmond, idr. Rector who went with them, is remaining for a longer visit with his; daughter, Mrs. Lelia May Goodman. — Miss Virginia Cooksey of Mary-" land was a week-end guest of her mother, Mrs. Ethel Cooksey. j
