fhf girls of Belle Meade met for 3 advanced work on their project “So You’d Like To Sew.” These girls plan to enter National Bag Contest sponsored by Singer Sewing Machine .. Company and National Bag Foundation this year. The girls learned how to use a pattern, marking darts, construction, etc. by the construction of ‘ simple blouse. Girls completing blouses Saturday were Betty Sisk and Rachel Maney. The whole group plan to have, many more articles' completed by the deadline August 1.

Washington H. D, met Wednesday night for its regular monthly meeting. The - making of lamp shades was demonstrated. . . five shades being constructed that evening.
Two leader training meetings-were * held for 4-H project leaders this week. The make and remake project — leaders: Mrs. Clara Woodard and Mrs. Stanley Williams met at the home of the meal preparation project leader, Mrs. Norman Flythe Friday morning. Demonstrations and helps were shown that the leaders wilt use in their project meetings this summer. Each leader will have 3 or more meetings as needed to complete the project her group carried.

The Weddles are expecting a baby in late June, hpwever, that shouldn’t prove a handicap in locating temporary quarters as I’ve found such infants harmless. Last week reports of.sheep killed by dogs is alarming but at the same time makes me wonder whether some simple precautions wouldn’t help prevent ^ such losses. Being a sheep fancier I’ve noted several flocks in the county which haven’t been molested in years and there could be reasons. Some say bells help scare off dogs. . others say the tinkling attracts them. . any way the clear toned kind loosely attached will surely awake most shepherds or, attract their attention during daylight hours should something cause the flock to take flight.
