Mr. Partlow was happily" " married to Andrea Martin, who was highly educated and very intellectual, having graduated at the Lebanon College for Young . Ladies, she attended the Cumberland University, and later graduated at the University of Chicago. There were four children: Alice Ready, (Mrs. Alden R. Billings), Detroit, Michigan; Helen Ruth,'-'" (Mrs. John McLean), Cherry Point, North Carolina; Andrea Virginia, deceased, (Mrs. Burchard P. Romain); and Martin Burrell, deceased.
He is survived by three sisters: Mrs. D. Cleveland Updike and Mrs. J. Lenard Bishop, Washington, and Mrs.. B. R. Cannon, Cas~ 1 tleton. . T
Ira Partlow was a persistent student, an efficient, capable, conscientious and experienced lawyer. Both in private practice and as a member of the judiciary, he was engaged in proceedings of the most difficult and complex character, involving the adjuddication of cases of unusual technicality, complexity and of a highly controversial nature.
His friendship was sincere, his integrity the best, he was a Christian and a gentleman.
In fond remembrance of his friendship, I lay this simple tribute on his grave.—F.C.B.
