GATLEY PLANS TO LIVE IN COUNTY l " Vernon R. Gatley, who purchased the old Henry place, near Slate Mills, states that beginning about November hell be a Virginian and a resident of Rappahannock.

Mr. Gatley points out vefy firmly that, though his present address is Washington, D. G, he's a bona fide Virginian 'because seven generations ago the family lived in the Old Dominion, in Buckingham county. His five-great-grandsire had the poor judgement to leave the great state in 1790, and Mr. Gatley thinks he shall give the story the proper setting come .next November._' Mr. Gatley says he's restoring the old place with the use of a bulldozer. The original house was unfit for repair, so he tore it down and is rebuilding about 50 feet from the original site.

On his visit in the county this week he was disappointed because he missed getting some of the strawberries he had read about in Rappahannock, but the crop was gone before he made inquiries.
