Rapp’k Boys Complete Basic Training
Pvt. Richard L. Menefee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Menefee, Washington; Pvt. Jonas J. Alther, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonas J. Alther, of Sperryviller^ and rhusband of Mrs* Jean Hawkins Alther, of Washington ; and Pvt. Edward H. Bailey Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Bailey, and husband of Joan Bailey, have completed eight weeks of basic training a the Camp Gordon Replacement Training Center.
During their basic training they received instruction in infantry tactics and weapons, and other subjects designed to prepare the individual for his military duties. Upon completion of these first eight weeks, the trainee is ready to continue infantry training or to attend one of the Army’s many specialist schools located throughout the country.
