A large crowd watched the Flint Hill Athletic Club take an early lead over the Rappahannock Chiefs in Sunday afternoon’s Shenandoah League game, and hold fast to this lead until in the eighth when the* Chiefs crumbled the A. C.’s hopes with 7 runs on 7 hits and 3 errors.
In the first inning, Strother
on a walk, and was brought in by a single, hit by Ned Settle, scoring the first run of the game.
Flint Hill played good ball in the second inning, bringing in 3 runs for a 3-1 lead over the Chiefs. Again in the fifth the A. C.’s got nice clean hits and chalked up two more runs, giving them a more comfortable lead of 5-1. -
In their half of the fifth, the Chiefs made another run, and in the sixth, 2 runs. Charles Dodson started the rally in the eighth with a double while 2' were on base.
