The work of^appraising the value of the 328,000 acres of Blue Ridge Mountain land to be acquired for the proposed Shenandoah National Park will be speeded up since the Virginia State Supreme Court of Appeals has upheld the. Mass Condemnation” act of Legislature, William B. Carson, chairman of the Virginia Conservation Commission in charge of park work, declared today.

Mr. Carson said by late next summer it will be definitely known just how much it will cost the State of Va. to buy the 328,- * 000 acres of mountain land to be turned over to the Federal Government in fee simple. The land is owned by 4,000 separate persons. Through private contributions and a State appropriation of $1,000,-° 000, Va. has around $2,500,000 with which to pay for the land.
