The Johnson Reunion
(Editor’s Note—As August 27 fell on our vacation week, we had to forego the below described gathering, to which we were so generously invited. It was with misgiving that we did forego it, and now, hearing talk of such ‘feasting, and good times’ we again bemoan our absence.)
On August 27, 1954, the clan of Johnsons that descended from William Johnson I of the Red Oak Mountains met for their 4th Reunion at the old Wood place near Sperryville, the former home of J. Walton Wood, now owned by C. El (Ned) Johnson, Jr. We found this lovely place an ideal setting for such a gathering. The large magnificant oaks furnished a splendid shade for a hot day.
