POWERS — FUSS
A wedding of wide interest took place September 11 when Miss Sara Elizabeth Fuss, Home Agent of Rappahannock County and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Fuss of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, became the bride of William Powers of Front Royal.
The double ring ceremony took place at 2 o’clock at the home of the bride’s parents.
The living room and dining room were decorated with white chrysanthemums, clematis, and white candles. Proceding the ceremony Miss Ann Yates and Betty Rutherford, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Paul Nichols, sang “I Love You Truly,” ^Because,” and “O Perfect Love.”
The bride dressed in traditional white satin and lace and carrying a nosegay of white bridal flowers centered with a white orchid was given in marriage by her brother, Franklin Fuss. Her sister, Mrs. Forest Wesson of Winchester, acted as matron of honor and was gowned in aqua taffeta.
Marvin Powers, the bridegroom’s brother, acted as best man.
The ceremony was followed by a reception at the bride’s home.
Later the couple left for a wedding trip, the bride being dressed in tangerine silk shantung with navy accessories and wearing an orchid corsage.
