and a county medal. In Better Ironing Project sprinkling a skirt'was capably demonstrated by Jean Lillard and ironing a skirt by Jean Jenkins. Jean Lillard won a blue ribbon and the county medal. Jean Jenkins won a placing ribbon. Twelve girls ' entered clothing achievement. Their exhibit consisted of gathered skirt ~and blouse, head scarf, apron andtea towel. Marlene Wines was awarded blue ribbon and county medal. Etta Campbell won red ribbon and Margeurite Williams woft a white ribbon. Placing ribbons were given to Shirley Pritchett, Anne Pullefi, Mary Ellen Williams, Loretta Williams, Joyce Pritchett, Geneva Wines and Virgie Wines.
As a word of explanation girls are eligible to win a county medal only ^one year. All contestants in county contest are the clubs winners. Winners in this contest are eligible to enter Area Contest providing they are 14 years old.
Mistress of Ceremonies at the Contest was Carolyn Williams, and Annie -Dodson opened the meeting by reading the devotion. Betty Rutherford was song leader. Helping girls in the kitchen were Betty Rutherford and Lelia Gentry.
Huntly and Flint Hill H. D. Clubs were entertained at the home of Mrs. Barbara Gentry, Tuesday, Sept. 21st. Mrs. Gentry -demonstrated making of sandwiches for school and for entertaining. - - -
Mrs. Lucia Kilby was hostess for Sperryville H. D. club, Wednesday. During the meeting Mrs. Dorothy AleshirC made low calorie refreshments; A fruit sponge and fruit cup. Mrs. Kilby demonstrated sandwich fillings for packed lunch and fancy sandwich shapes. The group welcomed a new member, Mrs. Martha Ann Critzer.
