Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Powers of Holly Spring Farm enjoyed visits over the week end from the latter’s father, John Hixson, and her sister, Mrs. Harold Hawkins and son, Stevie of Washington, D. C., Glenmore Rosson of Hyattsville, Md., Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Payne of Culpeper; and a Monday call from Mr. and, Mrs. George A. Brown and Mrs. Kathleen Pope Qf Washington, D. C.
A/3c Richard H. Boyd completed his Basic Training on September 27 at Sampson Air Force Base, near Rochester, N. Y. and went by plane last Tuesday to Biloxi, Miss., where he is now stationed at Keesler AFB, receiving technical training in radar wort.
Tom Kilby was home from Hampden-Sydney for the weekend with his parents, Mr.- and Mrs. O. Stonewall Kilby.
The Slate Mills Home Demonstration Club met Friday evening at 7:30 with Mrs. Robert J. Boyd. The Home Agent, Mrs. Elizabeth Fuss Powers, had as her subject for the evening’s discussion “Eiasier and Shorter Wash Days.”
Mr. and Mrs. George Thornhill had as their guests for the day on Tuesday, Mr. and Mrs. Pollack Mullen* of Alexandria.
Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland Ramey had as Sunday dinner guests the Baldwins from Brown town.
Dr. and Mrs. Roscoe F. Thornhill of Pulaski and their son, William, who is attending the Medical College in Richmond, were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Thornhill. All the Thornhills ware entertained at dinner Saturday by their nephew and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. O. Stonewall Kilby, who also had as a guest at the family gathering their brother, D. Jackson Kilby of Ctilpeper.
