Rappahannock has thrfce new pupils , the Sanders sisters, who formerly attended school in Warrenton. Carolyn is a sophomore at R.CH.S. Barbara is in the 8th grade. The youngest of the sisters is in the fifth grade at Sperryville. The girls are living at Amissville.
o o <To The Panther girls basketball team defeated Stafford 53-52 on January 25th. Alice Leake was high scorer with 30 points.
The Panther girls defeated King George, 66-21 at Sperryville on January 28. Though the game got •off to a slow start, by half-time R. ,C. H. S. was leading 36-8. Jean Alther was high scorer with 22 points, . Alice Leake made 16, Margaret Devers, 14 and Mablo Hawkins, 13. Betty Johnson, Shirley Williams and Betty Bruce played as guards.
The Panthers won over Marshall on February 2, by the close score of 54-50. The team stayed a few points in the lead during most of the first half, but in the third quarter Marshall went ahead by 8 points. Rappahannock made a fighting come-back with Francis Bruce tying the score and Don Liscombe .and Jimmy Wayland putting-us ahead by 4 points. Bobby Atkins was high scorer though
